Driftwood mug selected for the fourth annual juried mug show at Main Street Arts in Clinton, New York. The exhibition features 44 artists from 19 states.
Awarded an Honorable Mention for my piece Mind & Soul for the Healing, The Art of Compassion Show at the Coburn Gallery at Ashland University. The Mind is made up of a ceramic brain, driftwood brainstem and copper nerves. The Soul is a ceramic heart with driftwood ribs.
The theme of the Annual Ceramics show was mugs. I made my display interactive by hanging my mugs and having scissors for people to chose their mug. Several pieces were purchased.
Mind and Soul was selected for the GalleryPlus 2019Q1 People’s Choice Artist Showdown at 78th Street Studios in Cleveland, OH.
Drop Me In The Water was selected to be part of the Observation Conservation Show at the Valley Art Center in Chagrin Falls, OH. This show called for art inspired by conservation of natural resources.
Inspired by the body I created pieces like a ceramic heart with driftwood ribs, a ceramic brain with driftwood brain steam and copper wire nerves, a series of mugs that when stacked formed a spinal column, as well as other supporting pieces. Several pieces were purchased for private collections.
This piece entitled Holding On and Letting Go was selected for the BayArts Annual Juried Show and was purchased for a private collection.
We selected artists that inspire us, I chose Karen Karnes and interpreted her in my style. Several pieces were purchased for private collections.
